AEM, short for Adobe Experience Manageris a comprehensive content management solution for building websites, mobile apps and forms. The integration allows users to initiate and manage the translation of assets right from AEM through the very interface they use for day-to-day asset management activities.

Why integrate with memoQ?

  • Create a translation project for any asset or page without leaving AEM or having to worry about file formats or conversions
  • Set translation jobs to use a specific memoQ server or memoQ project template for translation in just a few clicks
  • Minimize the time and resources you spend on localization project management – no more keeping track of files, stakeholders, languages and project statuses

How does it work?

For website translations, select the relevant website, page or subpage, click Create and choose Language copy. Next, configure the translation project. Pick the target language and memoQ template under Translation provider credential. Select the translation method and memoQ Connector as the translation provider. After creating, configuring and naming your translation project, you will be redirected to Projects.

Find your new project and the job containing the pages and files that need to be translated. Click Start to create a memoQ project and import all relevant files. Once the translation is done, meaning the documents’ status in memoQ shows Completed, the target files is returned to the originating AEM project, and the job’s status changes to Ready for review. To edit the translated documents, go to Content Fragment in AEM.

To start the same workflow for a digital asset, go to Projects, click Create, then Project. Pick Translation Project from the available templates, and configure the project following the same steps as described above, except for Translation Provider and Translation Provider Credential. These refer to the templates configured within AEM. Once the project is created, add the files to be translated.

Place the source files in a folder using a two-letter language code directory. If you’ve selected Create Language Copy, AEM will create a folder for each target language and copy the original files there to hand them over to the memoQ plugin. When the translations are finished, AEM overwrites the source files with the ones in the target directories, which can be reviewed afterwards.
